i never leave home without the latest In Style and at least two books!
i like to take the paperbacks by Elizabeth Edmondson in my handbag- they are so entertaining and exciting!or the Nick Hornby novels, “Slam” kept me awake the whole red eye flight from Canada to FRA.but i try to avoid books that make me laugh out loud, got some evil looks for that on a dead head-flight 😉
greetings,

They were originally written for teenagers, but the Tomorrow series by John Marsden is awesome, un-put-downable stuff.
Have read and re-read at leasty twenty times.

I think mine are very character driven, too, but here’s a pretty random list off the top of my head in no particular order. I should really put these on my Goodreads list:
-The History of Love
-Cryptonomicon
-The Stand
-Middlesex
-Three Junes
-The Raw Shark Texts
-The Kite Runner
-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time -
