I was scanning the blogs, when I came across an interesting post from Jennine (that’s really her in the photo over there) who has a very cool blog called The Coveted. What drew me to her post was the Vintage Halloween stewardess costume she created.
Here’s what she wrote….
Here are the essentials for this costume: Basically, a hat, gloves, a neck scarf, a go-go dress, or shift dress, any uniform looking dress, vest, etc, knee high boots. You don’t to be exact… I took a lot of creative liberties with this one, like I’ll be doing something about this slip, it kept peeping out! Sorry!
Additional Flight Attendant tips….
Point a lot.Flight attendants tend to point a lot, they point at the exits, they point at the aisle, they point at the bathrooms. They point at your trays while they are telling you to put them up.
Smile.Fake smiles are even better.
Hair & Makeup… Same with all my 60’s inspired costumes, I just went heavy on the liquid eyeliner, and used blue eyeshadow … and red lips. And of course I did the beehive.
I’d like to add one more thing to Jennine’s flight attendant tips, and that would be…
Apologize. Say, “I’m sorry,” as often as possible. Flight attendants are constantly apologizing because we don’t have this and because we don’t have that to a flight full of miserably cramped passengers.
And now for the scary stuff, because it is Halloween, is it not? And the whole point of Halloween is to spook you, right? Which is why I thought this video would be perfect today. I mean haven’t you always wondered what flight attendants do on their layovers at the layover hotel, behind the closed door? Exactly. Now don’t be scared, go ahead and take a peek…
