Heather’s Jumpseat Nap Song

I know I’ve posted this before, but I think it’s time to post it again since many of you (I hope) have read my book and have had a chance to “meet” Bob, the fashionably dressed pilot, whom I wrote about in the chapter about dating pilots (Why I want to say no when the answer is yes, yes, yes!) What you may not know about Bob is he’s not just a well dressed pilot who hangs out in the travel section of Barnes & Noble in Dallas, Texas giving vacationing flight attendants fashion tips and travel advice, he’s also a singing pilot who’s been known to perform on layovers in Paris, and he’s written a song about me!

To listen to Bob (who sounds like Johnny Cash) sing Heather’s Jumpseat Nap Song, click the play button – >  Heathers jumpseat nap

THE LYRICS…
Lay, Heather, lay, lay across the aft jump seat
Lay, Heather, lay, lay across the aft jump seat
Whatever service you had in your mind
Cut it short and then you’ll have more time
Lay, Heather, lay, lay across the aft jump seat
Stay, Heather, stay, stay on your break awhile
Until you’re off this Super 80, then you can finally smile
The airplane’s dirty, your uniform ain’t clean
But you’re the best thing on this trip we’ve seen
Stay, Heather, stay, stay on your break awhile
Why wait any longer for your flight to land
You can have some cake, just steal it from 1st class
But don’t eat too much of your bland crew meal
Cause it will give you some nasty gas
Lay, Heather, lay, lay across the aft jump seat
Stay, Heather, stay, it’s the most uncomfortable in our fleet
You long to serve fat tourists going to Disneyland
But don’t give me no write-ups when we’re about to land
Stay, Heather, stay, stay at your hotel awhile
